    1) The author means that high concept is being able to create and see patterns. While high touch means being able to understand and empathize. I am a high concept type of person because i enjoy creating new things and detecting patterns. In the story it says that High concept and High touch is being applied to more jobs today.
    2) In the 21st century it is very imprtant to have numerous skills. Not only do you need the skill to do your work manually, but you need to bwe able to assess real life into your work. You need to be able to add creativity and emotion into your work. I think i would be a great candididate for a job because i have all the qualities that are needed. I am very creative and can apply my art side to my work. I am also very much a high touch type of person. I can do manual work but add artistic and creativity to my work.
3)I do not think the SAT should be the only thing to look at when entering college. It is based merely on everyday education. The normal things they expect people to know like math and english. Some people have other skills that will benefit them in college and may not be as good in math as another person. So i do think the R project is a good alternative. It really lets artistic and creative people show their skill and make up for not being as good in math or english.
4)I woke up one morning to a very strong aroma. So i fugured my mom was cooking breakfast so i trailed downstairs and was prepared tio chow down. Sadly when i got down there no one was home. So i thought they had left my breakfast in the stove as usual when i wake up late. So i went to the stove and opened it with a smile. That smile soon was replaced with a large frown when i found the stove to be empty. So i stil had no idea what the smell was so i went outside. Once outside i followed my nose and i ended up up the street at McDonalds and that still wasn't the right smell. So i went back outside to which i ended up at my friends house. They were eating breakfast also, but it was not what i had a nose for. So i left once again and trialed down to the park. I smelled very distinctive things but none satisfied my nose. So i went back home and went up to my room. When i was home i realized the smell had gotten stronger. So again i went back downstairs. I then realized the smell and a few sounds seemed to be coming from outback. So i opened the back door to find many members of my family all out there. Then they all screamed surprise once i walked out. I then realized it was my birthday. I had been so focused on the smell i had forgotten it was my birthday. I then seen what my nose had been wanting. It was my grandmoms famous chicken pot pie. So they all told me they didnt want to wake me because it was a surprise and once they did come upstairs i was gone. So we all celebrated and i ate all the pot pie i could. Now i know that follow your nose it can lead you to your own backyard!

  2. 1. High concept is involves you to be able to create artistic and emotional beauty to detect patterns and opportunities. High touch is the ability to empathize and to understand the subtleties of human interaction. To me I am a high concept tpe of person because I really think of different types of ways of doing something. I always go about something different and that’s the reason why I think that I am high concept person.
    2. I think that I should get this job because I have the qualities of a good worker and that I can be a very good worker as well. My creativity and I being able to see things differently is another good quality that I have to. I know that there are a lot of people that are trying to be graphic designers, accountants, and engineers but I on the other hand can think more differently and show you the other ways for people to find things out. My skills are very good and not many workers posses the ones that I have. Being more creative just than being more of a person that just thinks with their head all day is good but what happens when you have to think a different way. That’s why I think I am able to get his job because I can think more creatively and I can think more than one way. Getting this job is very important to me and I think that I am the person this job.
    3. The reason why I think that we should still take that test to get into college is because we have to be able to know how smart we are before going into college. The rainbow project sounds like a good idea but at the same time why are we talking about it. The reason why I think that the reason why for the rainbow project is because of the more right brained thinkers. If they give us a test like that then we would have to think differently than the SAT test. So to me I think that we should still take the SAT test to see how smart we are.
    4. One day there was an octopus named O’Neal and he was very lonely and had nobody to talk to. Then one day he met a group of friends and when O’Neal started to hang with his new friends they all had new sneakers. O’Neal went home to ask his parents if he could have some money to go and get some new sneakers so he could fit it with his new friends. His parents told him to earn the money so that he could get any sneakers that he would want. So O’Neal took a long time by earning his new sneaker and it took him almost the whole summer to be able to get those sneakers. When O’Neal got his money he went right away to get his sneakers because he wanted to show them off to his new friends. O’Neal was very excited to put on his brand new sneakers so when he seen his friends later they were all fascinated with his new appearance. O’Neal was very glad to have friends but then he realized that making money was more important than having friends. So everyday O’Neal would keep doing his same job to keep getting money.

  3. 1. High concept involves the ability to create artistic and emotional beauty, to detect patterns and opportunities, to craft a satisfying narrative, and to combine seemingly unrelated ideas into a novel invention. High touch the ability to empathize, to understand the subtleties to human interaction, to find joy in one’s self and to elicit it in other, and to stretch beyond to quotidian, in pursuit of purpose and meaning. No, I am not a “High concept, High touch” because I am not the kid of person that does not like to create art or create a play that will benefit others.
    2. Hello, Daniel Pink, I am the kind of person that likes to figure things out and to find out how to put things together. I think that I would be most suited for a job as an engineer because of those reasons. Also I like math and science because there in these classes I am able to find a problem out many different ways. Because I like these things I also think that I would be most suited to become a Chemist or a Forensic Scientist.
    3. I think that we should take the SAT’s prior to entering into college because it tells colleges what we can handle and where we would be most suitable when we get there. But I do think that it should be altered for the L-Directed Thinkers because it will give them a better chance to get into colleges that will have the major that they want to take once they enter their colleges.
    4. What’s that smell?
When I came home from school one day a horrible smell attacked me. Once I smelled I was determined to find the odor that was haunting my house. I went all over to find, it was like I was in a trance. I looked upstairs, the third floor, the basement and the main floor and the result came out the same, nothing. So I talk to the neighbors on both sides of me and I asked them if they smelled this aroma in there houses and they both said the same thing “yes.” So once I found this out I had to call the sewage companies to see if the smell is coming from the sewage, and it was. They found a crapper pipe busted. So there was everybody’s left over’s flowing under peoples houses which was making the smell. So I went to the store and bought many cans from all different brands. Then I went home and sprayed my whole house down. I used about three cans for the basement, four for the main floor, two for the second floor and one for the third floor. So when my mother arrived home she did not have to stand the sent.

  4. I think that what the author means by “High Concept, High Touch” is that the author wants us to know that nowadays, we should have the ability to be creative and imaginative. Also, the author believes that the ability to understand what’s going on in our life should be involved. I think that I am a high concept and a high touch person. The reason I think I’m that kind of person is because I always wanted to be a creative person and I think that I could do more because I believe that nothing is impossible. On page 51-52 in the a whole new mind article, it tells like what is the definition of the word high concept, and high touch. The quote is: “We’ll need to supplement our well-developed high-tech …” and that quote really make me understand that I’m the high concept, high touch person because I have the ability to empathize and to create artistic and emotional beauty.

Mr. Pink, I think that the ability that you think are important in the 21st century for a job is that the ability of being creative and the ability of being resourceful. I think that the ability of being creative is needed for the 21st century. The reason is because by being creative, we could satisfy many people with our job and with the result of what we’re doing. I also believe that with the ability of being resourceful, we could be successful with any job that we would want to have in the 21st century. By being resourceful, we could get ideas and turned it into something good. So, I think that’s the abilities that we need for a job in the 21st century because by being creative and resourceful, we would survive with everything that we do in this 21st century. So, I think that’s the abilities that we really need in the 21st century.

I think that you should take the SAT before entering the college. The SAT could prepare you before entering the college by doing test. The SAT also shows how your brain is thinking. Also, it would be easier for your teacher to know like what kind of problem you are struggling in. So, I think that you should be taking SAT before you are entering college because SAT is really important.

    What’s That Smell

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Andy. His mother was often complaining about him because he often smells weird that you couldn’t even figure like what kind of smell is that and sometimes he smells very horrible. So, every time his mother smells something bad, she would consider that’s the smell of her son. “What’s That Smell” his mother’s yell. Of course Andy was mad and unhappy because of the way his mother yells at him all the time because of his body’s smell. No one really wants to talk to him in the school because he smells horrible. One day, Andy decided to be a new guy and he wouldn’t want his mother to yell at him anymore. So, he would take a shower twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. He also went to the barber shop to cut his hair because his hair was really long and smells bad. Since that day, his mother never complains about Andy anymore and his mother was really proud of him because he finally realized to be a great person that respects his own body. He also got friends now in the school. Many people started to talk to him because he looks good and smells good. Now, Andy realized that people have to respect and take care of their own body.

  5. 1. The author meant that some people were good with one thing, like computers, and others were good with both, like computers and communicating.

    2. The skills that I have I that I am good with computers. I am very good with technology, I use computers all of the time. I also am a people person, so I am good with communicating with others. I am also a right and left brainer. I am good at thinking with both sides of my brain. This is very important if you want someone who can think outside the box. Thos are the skills that I have.

    3. I think that we should take a SAT before we go to college. This can help us decide which colleges are best for us. Maybe one college may be too extreme for us, and the other college may be just right for us. The only problem is that the SAT’s are not used for that purpose. They sometimes use it for the wrong reasons.

    4. The Octopuses Sneakers
One day there was an octopus that was walking around during his daily walk. He was on his way back home when he tripped over a pile of something that was on the ground. When he got up to see exactly what it was that he fell over, he saw that it was a pile of shoes. A squirrel walked up to the Octopus and apologized for the sneakers on the ground. The Octopus asked why they were sitting there, and the squirrel said that he was selling them. He had 8 different shoes; the squirrel looked at the Octopus and asked if he wanted them. There was a perfect amount, so the squirrel told the Octopus that the shoes were worth a whole lot of money, but that he would give them to the Octopus for free. So the Octopus took the shoes, and left. The squirrel just wanted to get rid of the shoes, and he finally did. He was pleased with himself, but as he was watching television, the shoes appeared on the screen and said they were worth millions of dollars. The Octopus also saw the shoes on the television, and he sold the shoes for millions of dollars. Now the Octopus is rich and the squirrel is upset that he didn’t keep the shoes.

    1. High Concept, High Touch are the kind of people they want for jobs. These are people who can understand a concept but then be able to interact with people and explain this concept. I think I am somewhat this type of person because when I explain something to someone it is easy to explain but I have low patience.

    2. I know I am the man for the job Mr. Pink. I have good people skills. I understand a lot of concepts and can think outside the box. I am good with my hands and good at creating things. If I know a concept I can teach it to others. I also can explain my reasoning for any concept.

    3. I think we should take the SAT before college. It helps the college figure how much you really comprehended in high school. Also it shows yourself how much you know since high school. I wouldn’t have a problem if they didn’t require the SAT but I understand why we do take it.

    4. The Octopus’s Sneakers
Aqua High was the best high school basketball team in the sea. And their best player was an Octopus name Oliver. He was a very good player. He could dribble, shoot, and rebound. But he had a problem he had a foot fungus problem. On the court he would stink but people just thought he was dirty. He was embarrassed and knew he had a foot problem but didn’t know what to do. He would try to where new sneakers all the time but as soon as he would sweat the odor would return. Well one day he got so embarrassed he decided to stop playing basketball. His team was doomed and begged him to come back on the team. But he was too ashamed. No one new why he quick because he told no one about his foot fungus problem. Not even his parents. But one day he told his mother why and she ran off to the store. She came back with this cream and said rub this on your feet. So he did and then went to the gym. After a few day his fungus smell was completely gone and he returned to the basketball team and they won the championship.

  7. Hi. Your blog is terrific. Here's an alternative to Question 2: Suppose you're about to interview for a position here at Pink, Inc. world headquarters (the third floor of my house.) Tell me -- in, say, 150 words or less -- a time you used high concept or high touch abilities in your school, work, or personal life.

1.) High concept involves the ability to create artistic and emotion beauty, to detect patterns and opportunities, to craft a satisfying narrative, and to combine seemingly unrelated ideas into a novel invention. High touch involves the ability to empathize, to understand the subtle so human interaction. To find joy in ones self and elicit it in others, and to stretch beyond the quotation, in pursuit of purpose and meaning. The author means that high concept is being able to pull out the important information when a person is talking to you. While high touch is giving you the tools to connect with people on another level.

I think I am a high concept kind of person because I can easily pull the significant piece of information when someone is talking to me or is giving a presentation. I also think that I am both because I can relate to both options. The book says that, “High concept and high touch are on the rise throughout world economy and society.” So I can say that I will be safe in the job field for a while.

2.) I think I am qualified for this job because I can relate to everything that you said in your book. I can go with my gut instinct; I have ingenuity, and personal rapport. I also am very keen with most of the electronics that the 21st century has to offer. While still achieving good grades my people and communication skills are still up to par and I can participate in a debate or a good topic. Also I can connect with my High concept and High touch concepts. I believe I can do both of the concepts and I will be a good asset to your team.

3.) I believe that the rainbow test is a good option but should not replace the SAT’s. I think studying for the rainbow project would be twice as hard as the SAT’s and tools would not be as available to you. The SAT’s are difficult but a necessary option for when you apply for school. The rainbow project seems fun but doesn’t seem to me like it would work out so well. Also I don’t know if students would respond as strongly to the rainbow test like they did to the SAT’s.

4.) Along with my fellow officers I stood in the tiny briefing room and watched our only lead through a window in the hospital. She was badly beaten and could hardly speak. She was being kept alive with a feed that the hospital gave us but we knew that out case was lost. We were investigating the crimes of the Red Tailed Fink which the person cleverly named them self. The Fink was robbing banks all over the country. Leaving her mark she would drop a feather in every empty bank vault and feeling the site. We knew that she was a mastermind at what she did and we needed to bring her down before the worst happened. Deciding to take the plunge I walked into the room which smelled like a Clorox wipe was squeezed out one to many times. I crept over to the person and looked at her. She looked like she was starring at the window in fear so I spun my head to the same direction and in bright red lip stick “nice try the fink” was written on the window. As fast as I could I sprinted to action and got my squad and tried to catch the person but they were gone before we could find anyone. This is just one case we can never win.

When the author say’s high concept and high touch he means that we need to have the ability to create artistic and emotional beauty in order to detect patterns and opportunities. High touch means to have the ability to empathize, to understand human interactions. I think that I am a high concept/touch person because I have all of the abilities but at the same time I don’t think I do.

I think the skills that I would need to be hired b the author of the high concept and high touch is the skills to be creative. Some other skills are being able to handle things financially. These are what I think the author would be looking for. I think I would be able to get a job because I can be creative. I can also empathize things along with understanding humans. I can understand the interaction and feelings. These are the reason which I think I could get the job.

I think that we should be required to take the SAT’s. The test show where you are in your education. It can also help you see what college is meant for you. I think that the rainbow test isn’t a good alternative. I think this because it seems too easy.

Once upon a time there was an Octopus that had the best/newest sneakers ever. One day he wanted to shoe them off to his friends. All of them thought that they were so cool but one friend was jealous. That night when the octopus was sleeping he jealous friend snuck into his home and took one of his sneakers. The friend buried the sneaker in a far away place so the octopus will never find it. When the octopus awake the next day he was upset because he couldn’t find his sneaker. When he asked his friends to help him look for it that say “yes”. The only person that said “no” and laughed was the jealous friend. The octopus never found the sneaker and he lost a friend. After this the octopus never showed anything off again and he was never the same since he has one less friend and one less sneaker. A couple of years later the octopus had found his sneaker but he didn’t want it anymore. He had brand new shoes that he liked even more then the old ones and he had all new friends that he showed off for. His new friends never got jealous because they showed of to and they had all the same things.

    1. When the author says “High Concept and High Touch” he means the way to survival. Living in high concept and high touch is working for a cheaper and faster business. High concept involves the ability to create artistic and emotional beauty. Also it means to direct patterns and opportunities. High touch involves the ability to empathize, to understand the subtleties of human interaction. You have to be able to do something overseas, because of how cheaper it is. In the book it states that high tech is no longer good enough. I do believe I am a high concept person in some ways. I am always directing things to make sure that I’m doing it to the best of my abilities.
    2. Something that is very important when being hired are your credentials. Creative types are claimed to be the key to the economic development. This is why they have MFA programs. MFA stands for master of fine arts.
    3. I don’t believe that you should be required to take the test prior to college. I believe that I should be an option to students no matter the grade. In my opinion I don’t believe that the Rainbow Project is a sufficient alternative. I think that it’s questionable about how they judge your IQ by how you make a short story. The only thing they should be able to tell is how good of a writer you are.
    4. The Case of the Red Tailed Fink
Once there was a time of crime spree and murders. There was only one person that people thought of when something bad would happen. His name was the Red Tailed Fink. He was untraceable and no ever saw his face. That’s how he got his name, the closes someone has ever came to seeing him was his red tail. Until one night there was a robbery at the National Bank. Police had already suspected that something was going to happen that night based on his previous robberies. They had helicopters patrolling in the sky. Once the alarm had gone off in the bank, it took at most thirty seconds for the police to surround the building. There was no where for the Red Tailed Fink to go without being seen or caught. He finally gave up and walked out with a white flag to show his surrender. It turned out to be a little kid. In questioning the police asked how did he get away with all those things he did. The responded and said “age doesn’t matter, but intelligence does.” He explained how easy it was to out smart them. And his final words for the officer was “I will get out of here”.

    1. When the author says “high concept, high touch” he means that in order for us to be able to maintain, we need to have the high concept, high touch skills, for example being creative, in order to hold down the jobs that are in demand. I think that I am a high concept, high touch person, because I feel that I am very creative, but in certain cases I can be not so creative.

    2. I am a high concept high touch person. I think that I am capable of holding various jobs that have to do with being creative and creating appliances that can further motivate the human race to go further down the path. I am a very logical thinker. I am also very creative. I think that most positions that need to be held I am able to keep a leadership role in those positions.

    3. I think that the SAT’s are necessary. I say this because so that the colleges are able to see how much knowledge you have overall. And they are able to determine your creativity and can decide if they want to accept you into their campus. I also think that they aren’t necessary because the left-brain thinkers may not do as well and their scores may not portray their intellect in a positive way.

    4. One day there were three siblings, Jon, Jalissa, and Jacob. They went to the mall to buy their mother a birthday present, when they had realized that the mall had been robbed. When they asked the police what happened the police told them that the mall had been robbed but all evidence that they found were pointing to the criminal behind it all being a red tail fink. As confused as they were as to how a red tail fink had the ability to rob an entire mall, they decided to help the police, because the chief of police was their father, they decided it was the right thing to do. They found one of the red tailed finks inside of a dumpster near by, he looked dead they figured it wasn’t who they were looking for. But little did they know red tailed finks are capable of playing dead when needed for protection. And when the kids left the red tail fink got up and ran to Mexico for safety. And no one ever found that red tailed fink.

1.Explain what the author means by "High Concept, High Touch"
Are you a "High Concept, High Touch" person? Why or why not?
Support your answer with at lease one quote from the chapter.

-The author means by High Concept, is like doctors such as people who put things together from pieces and are able to look at something and put it together. The meaning of a High Touch person is someone who has to listen to someone and be able to put things together and determine what it something is. A example of a person that is High Touch could be a good teacher. I am a High Concept High Touch person. I am more of a High Touch person because I am able to put things together after I hear what I am suppose to do. It gives me a better idea of what I am trying to get accomplished and be able to do it well.

    2. Imagine you are being interviewed for a job by the author of this book, Daniel Pink. Create a 7 sentence cover letter summarizing the skills which he would think are important to hire you for a job in the 21st century. (hint: MBA and MFA section)

    - If I was interviewed by Mr. Daniel Pink I would tell him that I am a High Touch person and learn better after I listen to someone. If he asked me about a job I would just say I would look into the position and just see what I can offer to that job. I wouldn’t want to go to a job that I know I wouldn’t be good at and not know what I am doing. I would want a job that I can master and be the best I could be.

    3. In 5 sentences explain why or why not you believe that you should be required to take the SAT prior to entering college. In your opinion is the Rainbow Project a sufficient alternative? Why or Why Not?

I believe that we should not have to take the SAT prior on some occasion because I don’t really know if people really take this test seriously. There could be a student who was a straight A student all there life and do bad on the test will you go by their performance based on the SAT or their accomplishments in the classroom. I think that the Rainbow Project is a better way of testing because studies show that when learning, using pictures it helps more then the usual study tactics.

    4. In 200 words or more create a story for one of the following titles:
    A. The Octopus's sneakers
    B. The Case of the Red Tailed Fink
    C. Whats that smell?

One day there was two men walking and they were looking for some lady friends to hang out with. The two men walked through a alley and the one man did not know he stepped in poop. As they were walking they both just said what’s that smell but neither one of them stopped to check what it was they were to eager to find some girls. After walking two blocks they finally met up with some ladies and began talking to them. The one girl said you stink what is that smell and he was like I don’t know I smelled it the entire way as we were walking to meet you guys. At this time he finally checked his shoes and that made the ladies leave and the two mean where left alone again and had to continue there journey right after they went home to get some new shoes.

    1. Explain what the author means by "High Concept, High Touch"
Are you a "High Concept, High Touch" person? Why or why not?
Support your answer with at lease one quote from the chapter.

    • When the author talks about high concept people he is talking about people that are able to look at something and find out why some the way that they are by looking for patterns. Doctors are perfect examples of high concept people because they use family to sometimes determine diagnoses. When the author talks about a person being high touch they are talking about people that are taught something and then are able to teach it to someone else. They are people that we taught something go sit by themselves and plug it into the computer, they are people that get out and teach it to someone else. A good professor is a example of a high touch person.

    • In my opinion I think that I am more of a high touch person. I say this because I think that I am a people’s person. Once I am taught a certain concept I them am thrilled to teach it to someone else. I hate taking everything that I learned and just simply plugging it into a computer. I think that I could be a teacher.

    2. Imagine you are being interviewed for a job by the author of this book, Daniel Pink. Create a 7 sentence cover letter summarizing the skills which he would think are important to hire you for a job in the 21st century. (Hint: MBA and MFA section)

    • I would tell Mr. Pink that I believe t hat I am a high touch type of person. I would tell him that I have the ability to, once learned something, teach it to someone else. I would tell him that I have a gift to break things down for people so that it would come to them easier. I have a gift to teach people and break concepts down so that even the most clueless people could it. I am very dedicated and a very hard worker. I think that I would be an important asset to your empire.

    3. In 5 sentences explain why or why not you believe that you should be required to take the SAT prior to entering college. In your opinion is the Rainbow Project a sufficient alternative? Why or Why Not?

    • In my opinion I do not believe that SAT should me required prior to entering college. I say this because not everyone has the attention span to sit through a standardized test and stay focused. I also don’t like how they give one test the power to change you like. Also when students are required to take a standardized test, they tend to stress and not perform to the maximum of their ability. I think that the rainbow project is a better way of testing. Studies show that if when learning or taking a test, using a pictures are more effective then another studying tactics.

    4. In 200 words or more create a story for one of the following titles:
    A. The Octopus's sneakers
    B. The Case of the Red Tailed Fink
    C. Whats that smell?

    • One day there was a dog that lived in the alley. He was an awful smelling dog that everyone hated. He would bark and chase all the little kids in the neighborhood. One day a new family moved on the block. They didn’t know any thing about the stinky dog. They never even knew that he existed. They were very friendly people so they decided to let the dog come in there house. They never knew that the dog smelled bad because they never got close enough to smell him. The only reason they even considered letting the dog in is because the dog was very skinny and looked hungry. They tried time after time to get the dog to come in but all there attempts failed. One cold night they decided that if they couldn’t force the dog in they would let him come in on his own. So they left there back door open so that the dog could come in. Once the dog came in it woke everyone up out there sleep because of the awful stench. The wife asked the husband what that smell was but he didn’t know. He was confused as to where it was coming from. The next thing you know the husband ran down stairs because he heard a bark, realized that the stench was coming from the dog, and kicked the dog out. The poor dog never returned.

1.High touch involves the ability to identify, to understand the delicates of human interaction. High concept involves the ability to create artistic an emotional beauty, to find patterns and chances, to make a pleasing narrative, and to put together seemingly unrelated thoughts into a novel invention. I think I’m both because I’m pretty good at math when it comes to understanding the patterns and change of things and I can understand how people feel sometimes. I can’t really say I’m more High Touch or High concept, I guess I just have a balance of both.

2.I’m pretty good at math when it comes to understanding the patterns and change of things and I can understand how people feel sometimes. I can’t really say I’m more High Touch or High concept, I guess I just have a balance of both.

3.I think it’s good to take the SAT’s before entering college because the colleges that you are thinking about attending are going to need to know where you stand academically. I mean yes they have your grades and extra curricular activities to look at but I guess it’s to see if you can work under pressure and still get proficient of advanced results. I don’t think it’s the best thing in the world but if it helps me in the future then I’m going to do my best. I don’t think the Rainbow project is a sufficient alternative because sometimes you do need to think logically because your creativity isn’t always going to help guide you in some situations.

1.) He explains the “high concept, high touch” is when you are taking your advancements in jobs to the next level. As he explained, “high tech is no longer enough”. By this, he means that people need to be way more creative, artistic, and be able to think outside of the box. They also need to be able to analyze different human actions and find happiness in themselves to make others this way. I think that based on these different things that he mentioned, I could be classified as this kind of person because I’m always looking at how humans will react and different things that can benefit or not in the long-run.

2.) A time that I used high concept or high touch ability was when I was at work. I work at McDonalds and we had got those new McCafe Coffees. Now everyone just figured that they should just advertise through the drive-thru by asking would they like to try one. Now, in my opinion, that’s not going to be enough. You would have to do a lot more to advertise creatively and draw people in. When I had brought this to the manager’s attention, by the next week, we had huge signs outside that they had ordered. These described all the different drinks and everything. I think this took more of a value of the persons wants and thought about their reactions.

3.) In my opinion, I don’t think that SAT test scores can really tell that much. I mean sure, they tell about you intelligence at the time but what else? This doesn’t show how one can apply creativity or none of the sort. It’s just simply high tech based scores. According to Daniel Pink, this will not benefit anyway. People in jobs and in the real word are looking for people who are way deeper than that. Now, I’m not going to say that it doesn’t count for anything, because obviously it does tell ones intelligent. I just think that they can only be taken to a certain extent. Basically, they don’t mean everything.

    4.) What’s That Smell?
It was Friday, just like any other Friday, and everyone was ready to go to their last class. Everyone was pretty much in a good mood and just ready to get out of that school. Many talked about different plans they had for the weekend, and seemed to be very anxious. The final class was going smoothly as well. No one had really interrupted and the lesson was able to go on without a problem. All of a sudden, the room became silent. No one spoke, but the facial expressions told it all. “What’s that smell?” a student had yelled out all of a sudden. Everyone agreed that they couldn’t figure it out, but no one would admit if they really did know. Some were feeding into it hard and went crazy trying to come up with what it could possibly be. The only thing that was for sure was that it did not smell pretty. Now people really couldn’t wait to leave. As soon as the bell sounded, everyone rushed out. The only person who was left behind was the teacher herself. She didn’t make a sound. She just cleaned up her room as she did every Friday, and chuckled quietly to herself.

What the author means by high concept and high touch is high concept is when you can learn something and use what you learned by letting it come in one ear and not leaving out the other. High touch is when you can take that information you learned to help other people. Me myself I wouldn’t say I am a high concept or high touch person unless it’s something I would want to know or learn if not I wouldn’t even listen. I say this because if I’m not interested in something I would not want to hear it. Just like in this chapter high concept involves the ability to create artistic and emotional beauty. And how can you do that if you’re not interested in that topic.

Daniel Pink I am a hard worker that graduated from Rhode Island school of Design. I can’t tell you how hard I worked just to get this interview and to be ready to talk to such a man of your power. I am a man who will work my hardest to help this company. I am a very good listener and not only do I listen well I can pull the important things out of what people say and turn it into something that will benefit another person and myself. I am very good with people and I know how to help people with jeopardizing anything. I am also willing to move any where to get the job done but only if the money is right. And these are some reasons why I think I am the best man for the job.

I think it is important to take a SAT prior to entering college. I say this so they can know where you are and where they can put you. Also to see how smart you are and see if you are willing to work hard when you get to college. This test is used to show how smart you are and what schools you would be able to attend. This test separates you from a peasant and a high class person.

Once upon a time there was an octopus that had a 1000 pairs of sneakers. People use to laugh at him because he always had four different pairs of sneakers on because he had 8 legs. He was very fast and that helped him a lot because people chased him home after school every day. He never got into a fight in his life because his mom told him don’t fight just run as fast as you can and don’t stop unless you loose one of your sneakers so one day when he was running he loss one of his sneakers and he had to go back and get it when he went back and got it he noticed that everyone that was chasing him had stopped and was just staring at him waiting until he put on his sneakers. When he got his sneakers on they started running so he started running and later he found out that they were trying to race him because he was so fast and he went home and told his mom what happen and the only beating he got was him running every day when the other kids just wanted to race him from then on he ran happily ever after.

    1. I think the author is trying to tell us how high the concept, high touch is of having money. He is trying to tell us how hard it will be to get money or a job with a higher paying. He wants us to think about the different job opportunities there are to have a job. Yes I am a high concept, high touch person because I think big about the different jobs I want to have and I make sure I know what there is to look for. I can create different artistic and emotional beauty. I can detect different patterns and opportunities.
    2. I am a very artistic person. When I think, I think big and open my mind to new and different opportunities. I keep different ideas in my mind of what I need to have or what I have to do. If you hire me I will work to the best of my abilities and will keep an open mind on different ideas coming to me. I am an experienced person and I work to the best of my abilities. I will never let you down and what ever you tell me to do I will try my hardest to achieve that goal. I think these things are important because from this you can learn the thing that I am good at and the things I am not too good at.
    3. I think you should take the SAT’s prior to entering college because with this test we can find out what you are good at and what you need to work on. SAT’s are big important test and they are required to be taken. I think that the Rainbow Project is a decent alternative. If it’s similar to the SAT’s or it’s a big project that involves all school subjects then it is. SAT’s are important for college and if you want to go to college.
    4. The Octopus's sneakers
Now The Octopus’s sneaker is not what you think. This is actually is a something we use to say pollution. There is so much pollution going in to the oceans that the things living there a dying because of it. There are many that are dying but some of them get things caught around them or on them. This is where the octopus’s sneakers come in. The Octopus has a plastic ring wraps wrapped around his tentacles. When someone throws trash in the street goes in to the ocean. This is causing the pollution to go into the oceans and hurt the animals of the ocean. If you can try and stop people polluting in the streets it will save many of the animals. Polluting the ocean is a very bad thing. When I was little I use to just throw stuff any where but as I got older I have learned what it does to the air and the things around me. I have been able to throw something away and if I miss the trashcan I am able to pick it up with out thinking twice. I now always tell people to pick up stuff and to throw it away.

    1) Explain what the author means by "High Concept, High Touch".

The author explains that high concept involves more of the creativity and emotional into the work, to make the work beautiful artistically. He explains that high touch involves the need to empathize and understand human interaction. I think he thinks this will help keep out jobs.
I think I am a high tough person because I am not very artistic and I also empathize a lot of things.

    2) A time you used high concept or high touch abilities in you school, work, or personal life.

I think I use my high touch abilities in school and my personal life all the time. I am more of a “people person”. I like to know the personal situation before making certain decisions, because I believe it can make a huge difference. For example, In school teachers may ask questions that you can think of in general but it would take the question more of personal but also general.

    3) In 5 sentences explain why or why not you believe that you should be required to take the SAT prior to entering college. In your opinion is the Rainbow Project a sufficient alternative? Why or Why Not?

I think that you should be able to take the SAT prior to entering college because it can better help you be prepared for college. I do believe testing can help prepare you or it can hurt you as well. The testing doesn’t also way prove your abilities but I do think the testing is good. I don’t think it should be a requirement but have a choice to be able to take it.

    4)
    What's that smell!
Little Jonny lived in a big house with only his mother and father. Little Jonny was an only child. Looking at it like this, he pretty much had it made and had everything handed to him. He always had nannies to look after him. One day when he was playing in his room, he smelled an awful smell. Determined by the smell, Jonny decided to find what out what it was and where it could possibly be coming from. He first looked into the long narrow hallway. He first went into his parent’s room. He checked the huge bathroom and it wasn’t coming from there. He then checked the three guest rooms and it didn’t come from there. He then secretly crept into the maid’s room. He didn’t find it there. Little Jonny then went down stairs to the living room. He then started sniffing the sofa. The maid gave him a weird look. He then traveled to the bathroom and there was no smell. He went into the pantry, the laundry room, even the theater, and it wasn’t there. He then traveled outside. By his surprise, there was nothing outside that could possibly have the nasty smell. Finally, Jonny traveled into the kitchen, where the smell got stronger. Turns out Jonny found his leftover egg sandwich.

High concept is the capability to be artistic and emotional beauty that is capable of touching others. It is also the capability to find patterns and things others wouldn’t see. To be High touch is to be able to emphasize and understand human interaction. It’s basically being able to be in the mix with those around you. As said in the chapter it means “to stretch beyond the quotidian, in pursuit of purpose and meaning”. I feel I am more high touch simply because I am capable of viewing things in a way that others can’t.
    INTERVIEW

I feel I meet the necessary credentials to work in the 21st century. First off, I am very capable of thinking more with my “right side. I am good with numbers but, I am better with finding ways for things to function in a new way. I do find myself to be inventive in an artistic way. I also am very good at solving puzzles and looking at things from other points of view. That skill would be crucial to jobs such as detectives and government work. With so many jobs being outsourced, I don’t feel those types will be any time soon, so I feel I would be beneficial to a job in that field.

I don’t feel the SAT should be required. To me, the only thing the SAT s prove is whether you remember everything you have learned the past four years. There other things that the SAT don’t have that are essential to your future, such as social scenarios and how you deal with them. Creative abilities, which are very crucial in certain careers, aren’t required either. Sure most careers involve math, but there are just as many that involve the abilities mentioned above. I don’t think The Rainbow Project should be an alternative, but I don think it should be added to the SAT. Being able to come up with ideas on the spot is a great skill that should be tested and should be an important factor in getting into college.

The Case of the Red-Tailed Fink

The Red-Tailed Fink had a stink with the Blue-Tailed fink. The stink was that the Blue-Tailed fink stole the Red-Tailed Fink’s mink. A mink his grandma gave him when he was baby. Was no longer there next to the statue lady. Where is it at? Where is it at? You stole it, I know you did! You Blue-Tailed Finks are always stealing Red-Tailed Finks’ minks. Just to think, I was going to invite you to MY birthday. Just at that moment, the Blue-Tailed Fink pulled the mink out from behind his back. “See I knew it, I knew you stole my mink, and LOOK, you spilled something pink on it!” The Blue-Tailed Fink says, “I took it to the mink cleaners for your birthday and I didn’t spill anything on it, I dyed it pink. Now your mink matches your red fink fur. This wasn’t a case of someone stealing; it was a case of me being a friend. You’re Welcome.” “I owe you an apology Blue-Tailed Fink. I no longer have a stink and you’re welcomed to come to my party. Come on along, your welcome among us Red-Tailed Finks. Don’t forget to bring your mink too.” From that day on the Case of the Red-Tailed Fink was closed. All it took was the capability to sit and listen.

  20. 1) When Daniel Pink talks about High Concept people he means people who can be emotional as well as artistic beauty, detecting patterns and opportunities to create a masterpiece and to combine relatively unrelated ideas into something worthwhile. High Touch involves the ability to empathize, to understand the subtleties of human interaction and to find joy in one's self and elicit it in others. In my own words a "High Concept, High Touch" person is creative and compassionate. I believe I am a High touch person because if i see someone feeling down in the dumps i like to know whats wrong and if i can help. I think I'm pretty creative but i don't know if i can take two seemingly unrelated objects and make something worthwhile.
    2) Because Daniel Pink wrote this book he must believe that right brained people are becoming more worthwhile in the world so obviously he would look for people who possess the skills of a Right-Brained person. Something that would look very good in trying to work for Daniel Pink would be getting accepted in the UCLA Department of Art. Because of the coming demand of the skill that the Right-Brained possess the program only admits 3% of it's applicatns. Becoming a Master of Fine Arts is now one of the hottest credentials in the world. I also think that it's important to be a "High Concept, High Touch" person. Important to be able to empathize with people and to create new things for the people. I know that there are more credentials for it but those are just a few.
    3) I think that it is good to take the SAT but that it shouldn't be as important as it is. I don't think the SAT's should be the "be all, end all" test to decide what college a person gets into. That college could then determine the career that person has for their entire life. I think that the Rainbow Project is a cool idea but i don't think it should take the place of SAT's. If they went hand in hand, that would okay.
4.The Super Hero Big Black and his Companion Big Lion were practicing some hand to hand combat attacks in their secret lair when suddenly Big Lion's head shot up to the ceiling and he started inhaling deeply. It didn't take long for Big Black to catch. In the midst of saying, what’s that smell," Big Black realized it was the unmistakable smell of gasoline mixed with the smell of gunpowder. It was the odor of the Kamikaze. The Kamikaze is known for being able to rob banks in broad daylight because he wears a body suit of Gasoline and Gunpowder and always has a hostage. If the police tried to fire on him would ignite the highly combustible mix putting the hostage in danger. Rushing to the monitors Big Black and Big Lion observed that Kamikaze was right down the street robbing the 2nd National First American Loan Reserve Federation Bank. Because they couldn’t allow Kamikaze to rob the cities largest bank Big Black and his companion sprang into action. On the way to the bank in the “Blackmobile,” a strategy was formed. Because Kamikaze was highly combustible Big Black couldn’t use his guns, but that’s what he had a companion for. Kamikaze isn’t allergic to bites from the very sharp teeth of a 600 pound Big Lion. Within minutes Big Black and Big Lion arrived at 2nd National First American Loan Reserve Federation Bank and came face to face with Kamikaze.

    1. I think the author means that its takes more experienced people to give a deeper meaning of things. If a person is good with computers, but really nothing else. A person that’s good with people could expand the computer aspect like with communications or something. I’m really not a “High touch, High Concept” person. I’m a people person in the way of helping people, but not in the way of talking and being all smiley and stuff.

    2. I think he wants someone who id creative and very consistent of his work. He wants someone who is smart and is really good with the people at his work. He wants someone that has more than one tactic and could do previous jobs because that makes his job easier and complete more work.

    3. I don’t think we should because it depends if we graduate or not. I don’t think it’s right because that’s just like saying all the work we did on the school year meant nothing. I think it’s a better alternative because you can the work and effort that you want to put into it. You can make it your best and the people can see your best effort. I would rather take that instead of the PSAT test.

    4. The Case of the Red Tailed Fink

The Red Tail Fink was the fastest animal in town. He won every race he was in. It could be one to up to fifty animals racing. It did not matter because even the hare couldn’t win. Then, one day a cheetah was staying in their town and everyone was scared of him. The cheetah didn’t want any trouble, but he accused of most because he was different. He was a former, older racer. He was the fastest in the jungle. His name was speedy spot. He couldn’t be stopped by anyone and no one could stop him either. The Fink was acting cocky with speedy and talking trash to him. He said, “You can’t beat me, you are a tiger.” Speedy took that offensively and took up the offer. They both train for two weeks and everyone in the town is hyping up this potential matchup. Then, the day finally comes, the Fink vs. the Cheetah. They are going to run the race on route 66. It’s the longest strip and it was just the perfect day for it. They lineup to line and the man fires the gun as they take off. Its close all the way down and it looked it was going to go down to the wire.

    1. I think that what the author means by “High Concept” is that you can have the capability to stand out and make things appealing towards other people in various ways. “High concept involved the ability to create artistic and emotional beauty.” That is proof to back my statement up. I think I’m a high concept, high touch type of person because everything that I do stands out to people. Another way to put it is that I am, or can be very different from others.
    2. I think that if I were being interviewed for a job by the author, he would be looking for characteristics like creativity. He would look for individuality and intelligence. Another thing I think he would be looking for is if I can speak a different language. There would be a higher chance of me getting a job if I could speak another language like Spanish. Characteristics like such would be important for the job because it could not only benefit you, but the rest of the company. If not then I don’t know what else he could possibly look for.
    3. I believe that the SAT should be apart of the determination to get into a college because for it helps prepare you for it. Your grades during high school really help you in the future. You would have a higher chance of getting jobs. But in a way I don’t think that it should be apart of it because if you fail the SATs then you don’t have very high chances of getting into a good school.

    4. What’s That Smell?
One day there was a fish family that had just moved to Bikini Bottom on Conch Street, where SpongeBob Squarepants lives. This family smelled very bad. Every time they would walk up and down the streets of Bikini Bottom, everyone would be like, “what is that smell?” The fish family did not believe in washing themselves because they thought fish were supposed to smell like that. So they didn’t really have any friends to talk to. The citizens of Bikini Bottom would make mean faces and cover their noses and flare at them because of their disgusting stench. The family was sad. So after a good week, Squidward, the Grinch of the town, spoke to them about it. Of course he said it in a mean way. But hey that is just how he is. Eventually, the fish family took what he said into consideration and decided to wash themselves and continue to do it as long as they lived in Bikini Bottom. They were tired of being mean mugged and not having any friends. So now when they walked up and down the streets of Bikini Bottom the citizens were no longer mean to them, they waved politely and smiled and gave hand shakes.

    1. I think what Mr. Pink meant when he said “High Concept” he meant it involved the ability to make things appealing to everyone in more than just one way. He stated that, “high concept involved the ability to create artistic and emotional beauty” and “high touch involves the ability to emphasize” in the third chapter in his book. I believe that I am an high concept high touch person, because the things that I do appeal to everyone that I come in contact with and that I find it very easy to make people feel the way that I’m feeling if I try hard enough.
    2. I will start by saying that I am move of a high touch person. This shows while I work in school and the choices I make for my future, saying that we where in class the counselor of my grade came in and asked used what do we want to major or minor in college. I want to major in criminal law and minor in psychology. I think that this is an example in why I am high touch. In psychology you are to help people with how they are feeling. Just like how a high touch person does.
    3. The octopus’s shoes.

Once upon a time there was an octopus that no one was really friends with. The octopus didn’t like to be an outcast nor was it his choice. For some reason the octopus wasn’t liked by anyone but the octopuses brother. Every day the octopus would walk to school alone. The octopus liked this because if he got up early enough he would be able to walk up on the beach and enjoy the sun rise. So one morning the octopus slithered his way on to the beach. Once he got to his normal spot he noticed something on two of his tentacles. He wasn’t sure what these red and white things where but he liked the way they kept his tentacles warm in the sea breeze so he kept them on. Once he got to school he saw that everyone was looking at him. He knew why. Everyone envied his new red and white chucks. Everyone wanted a pair so they decided that if they hung with the octopus they might find a pair of there own. This is exactly what happened. Next thing you know the octopus had started a new trend and everyone new that the octopus was now the man. Once everyone liked the octopus he met this girl. She told him how she always loved him even while he was unpopular. Both him and her where happily married about a week after. The End.

    1. Explain what the author means by "High Concept, High Touch"
Are you a "High Concept, High Touch" person? Why or why not?
Support your answer with at lease one quote from the chapter.

An example of high concept would be a doctor. A doctor can look at a patient’s medical history such as someone who comes from a long line of heart problems, and be able to determine that they have a heart condition. The main idea is to identify patterns and reoccurring themes. Someone who is high touch has the ability to teach what they have already learned through motion and words. A motivational speaker would be a fine example. They inform people through words and apply the lessons to real life situations. I feel as though I am a “High Touch” person. As far as concept goes, I don’t always grasp everything as fast as others, but I work well with words. Teaching someone comes easy to me.

    2. Imagine you are being interviewed for a job by the author of this book, Daniel Pink. Create a 7 sentence cover letter summarizing the skills which he would think are important to hire you for a job in the 21st century. (hint: MBA and MFA section).

Mr. Pink, I feel as though I would be the best employee you’ve ever had. I am aware of our economy’s move into the conceptual age and I have the necessary skills to assist you in this time of change. I possess of an MFA from UCLA. I focus on what has not been invented, if it can be done over seas, if a computer can do it faster. I also focus on symphony, empathy, design, story, play and meaning. Being in touch with the right and left side of my brain I can do it all. With my super positive attitude and quick learning I could assist you in changing the future.

    3. In 5 sentences explain why or why not you believe that you should be required to take the SAT prior to entering college. In your opinion is the Rainbow Project a sufficient alternative? Why or Why Not?

I don’t believe that the SAT should be required prior to entering college, because the SAT is directed more towards L-Directed thinking, also life isn’t based on the questions on the SAT. Just because a person doesn’t have the best scores on the SAT does not mean they do not have a promising future. There are plenty of people who never finished high school, yet they are millionaires. The Rainbow Project is an alright alternative. You can’t determine if a person will be successful by how efficient their funny bone is either. But it does give L-Directed thinkers a chance to redeem themselves for not so great SAT scores.

    4. In 200 words or more create a story for one of the following titles:
    A. The Octopus's sneakers
    B. The Case of the Red Tailed Fink
    C. Whats that smell?
    Whats that smell.

Tommy was a clown back in his day. He knew every joke and prank there was, he invented most of them. As a child he would put whoopee cushions in the couches, throw sardines in the neighbors backyard so stray cats would swarm the yard, put peanut butter in his siblings mouth while they were sleep and many other jokes that you could never even imagine. As he reminisced about the old days Tommy watched his son walk in. Little Tommy was just like his father in every way imaginable. At only 7 years old he was a prankster. Since the boy learned to move around on his own he would play jokes on anyone silly enough to underestimate his ability. Victims consisted of his mother sister grandparents and family cat. He had done everything to terrorize his loved ones. He poured honey on his sister while they were near a bee hive, rubbed hair removal lotion on the cat, glued his mothers lips while she was sleep and put hot sauce in his grandparents teeth water. In his seven years of life he had never once successfully pranked his father, the master. Today was like any other, Tommy and his son had their usual after school talk. Little Tommy then made a stinky face. “What’s wrong” his father asked?
    “What’s that smell?”
    “What smell?”
    “It smells like peanut butter”
    “What?”
    “Your hands Dad!”
Tommy raised his hand and smelled it and before he could realize what was happening, Little Tommy had taken the opportunity to push his father’s arm and use it to smack him in the face. The young boy fell out into laughter cackling the words, “I got you, I finally got you!” Tommy was shocked, the prankster had become the pranked. He laughed with his son at his long waited accomplishment.

  27. High Concept and High Touch are being able to create R-Directed forms of expression, and being able to understand other people’s emotions. I think that I am a HC;HT person, but not the entire way. I can’t write poems or stories very well, but I empathize and understand others very well.

I think I am qualified for this job because I understand people. I get when people are feeling certain emotions, and I can adjust the way I am acting so that we would work better together. This would lead to a more productive work session. Also, I am able to give new ideas, rather than just going along with the ideas of others. Instead of just replicating what others do, I try to be innovative, creating new products and ideas for the company. Also, when in doubt, I don’t go by a set of determined rules or pattern, I tend to use my gut instinct to tell me what to do next, but I also know when it could end up being bad. I know when to stop using instinct and when to follow a logical pattern. So, I consider myself a versatile worker.

I believe that we should not be required to take the SAT. For some pathways in life, the SAT is not a valid assessment of their skills. The SAT focuses on things like, the ability to memorize and the ability to understand what you read and answer questions about it. These are valuable skills, but some people who want to be graphic designers or other creative professions need a different kind of assessment. I don’t think that the Rainbow Project is a good replacement for the SAT, but it is a good aptitude test for those who want to pursue R-Directed career paths.

    The Octopus’ Sneakers

In the bottom of the sea, there lived an octopus. He was just like all the other octopi, except for one thing: he had lungs. This octopus had the ability to live comfortable on dry land, as long as he didn’t dry out, similar to a frog. One day, he decided that undersea life wasn’t for him, and that he wanted to go live in a forest. But, on his way out of the beach, the sand burned his tentacles. So, he was forced to go back to the sea. For weeks, he worked on a solution to this problem.
One day during his work, he found his solution. He thought, “Shoes! Like the humans have! Shoes!” With this thought, he set to work He fashioned himself a pair of shoes that covered the ends of his tentacles so that the sand wouldn’t burn him. Then, he crawled out onto the beach. On his trek across the beach, people stared, screamed, and were just plain amazed. No one had ever seen anything like this before. Then, he hiked over the boardwalk, and out into the forest. He found a small pond, to keep himself from drying out. There made his home, where he lived happily ever after.

    1. A. The author means that there are different people in the world and they are very different ways that they handle things. Some handle it a good way and some don’t really handle that well.
    B. I think I am a high touch type of person. It says in the book that a high touch is able to “have the ability to emphasize and to understand human interaction”. I think I understand the human emotions pretty well when it comes to that type of stuff.
    2. I think that you should hire me because I have the ability to do many things. I have the skills to understand many people because I’m a high touch type of person. I would work long hours and work on things that not everyone tries to work on. I am a really creative person and can do a lot. I am good at art since I am very creative. It will be very easy to work with other people. I can get this stuff done very quickly.
    3. I think that they should keep the SATS because they need to know where we stand. And people may not be artistic when it comes to the rainbow project. I don’t think it stands up to the SATS. The SATS may be hard but they prove how hard you can work and get things done. So, no I don’t think that you should even change it.
    4. The Octopus’s Sneaker’s
The octopus was under the water wondering what he should do that day.
He had tried so many things .But he remembered that they had a new shoe store that opened called “underwater sneaks”. He walked into the place and was amazed. He saw so many of the sneakers that he always dreamed of. He wanted to find the pair that he wanted the most.
As he looks at every end of the place, he did not see them at all. He was getting slowly frustrated. He decided that he would just stop looking everywhere and ask someone who works there. He couldn’t really find anybody. This to him was very annoying.
Finally he found the person that helps around the place. He asks about the show and then the person goes to find it. He waits for the man to come back for at least 3 minutes. As the man walks up, the octopus gets impatient. The man walks in front of the octopus and looks at him sadly. He starts to talk but the octopus interrupts with “you don’t have it, do u?” The man says. “Unfortunately no.” The octopus says o.k. and leaves the store skipping away like a little girl.

    1. What the author is trying to say is that in order to make it in the business life you must be creative, high spirited and try to get the deepest understanding out of everything see the bigger picture.
    a. I say I am high concept and high touch. Only because I am very creative and love to think of ways to do things better, create things differently from every one else. I also am high spirited and want all those around to feel the same way I feel of my happiness. For example “high concept involves the ability to create artistic and emotional beauty, to detect patterns and opportunities, high touch involves the ability to emphasize, to understand the subtleties.”
    2. Well I am very creative and a very good people person. I am very polite to others; love to make people laugh but still get business done. I am one that will do what’s best for the company but not at the expense of other people. I am good at creating new ideas and ways to be different. I am a hard worker and good with my hands.
    3. I think is good to take the SAT testing before you enter into college. It tells where you are and where you need to be.
    The octopus shoes
Their once live an octopus and he felt like he wasn’t being treated fair by everyone else. So he planned to run away from home to make a new life, name and everything for him. That day came were he ran away leaving everything behind from his miserable past. Now on he’s own he felt he could do whatever he liked so he was hitting on lady octopi and just being a man! Than he was hooked by a rode and pulled by some humans and he was frightened. He didn’t know what to do so he pasted out. When he woke up he found his self set to be cut than he started to scream. Shockingly the humans understood him. And to his surprise his was smatter than the humans. The octopus taught the humans how to fish, what to wear and what not to wear. So on his since of helping them demanded to be treated like a human. So the next day the three of them went one shore finding cloths for the antihuman. There was one specific pair of shoes that the antihuman wanted they were aqua green with wavy lines like the ocean. Even though the other octopi didn’t like him back than they do now even the lady octopi that wouldn’t even give him a chance.

High Concept is the ability to create artistic and emotional beauty, to catch the patterns. The High Touch is the ability to empathize, human interaction and your understanding. I believe that I am a little bit of both. I am emotional most of the times, twenty five out of one hundred of the time; I am able to notice the patterns, which is the high concept. From the high touch, I am able to analyze something and try to understand what it is about, what’s going on, why it happened, and much more.
I believe that I would be able to work under any circumstances with any tasks that I am assigned to do. I would be able to get my jobs done within a quick time that I was given. I might even be able to get my job done quicker than some other people and even the technology, depending on how focus I am and how important it is to me.
There are many skills that are required for a job that you would be interested in. For example, I am able to work and think outside of the box. I am a more of a left brain thinker but I can have other skills of the right brain. I am creative in my own ways and I usually have new and refreshing ideas. I believe that you need to have some feelings and passion in the job that you are going to apply for. If I’m passionate about getting that job, I would try to explain that I have most of qualities that is needed. I am willing to work beyond what I am required to do.
One day at my family reunion, there were so much food and it left an amazing smell for distance that many people had asked, “What’s that smell?” Many people had followed the smell and entered my house and asked if they could stay and share the meal. I didn’t want that to happen because it was suppose to be a family time, but my aunts and uncles were too nice and allowed them to eat with us. I was really mad but I couldn’t do anything about it so I ignored them for the rest of the day and went upstairs in my roof to listen to music and to tan. Awhile later, I went downstairs to get something to eat, I checked everywhere but there was only one plate left for me and another little girl. Both of us was not willing to share with each other so I grabbed it and began to eat it. My family began to yell at me, I ignored them and went back to my roof and enjoy my food. I was almost done until there was the smell of my grandma’s famous Pho. I went back downstairs to get some but they were not willing to give me some so I stole my cousin’s bowl of Pho and once again I got screamed for that.
I think that we shouldn’t have to take the SAT prior to entering college because of several reasons. One of the reasons is that not every student would be able to concentrate or they are to be too nervous that causes us to not remember what we are doing. I do think that the Rainbow Project is sufficient alternative for the SAT because there are students that are able to do hands on project than sitting down and taking a test. Both SAT and Rainbow Project needs a lot of thinking, understanding, analyzing and much more. Both tests are beneficial for right brain thinker and left brain thinker.
